Please disregard the transit relay connectors.

For smoke machine and oil slick on 007 version. Seriously, one is for a trickle charger for the trip across the Eastern American Ocean . Don't know purpose of other. Someone will chime in.

One of the pictures shows the battery vent tube to vent hydrogen gas from the boot. It should be connected to the new battery during installation.

Those connectors' sole purpose in life is to allow new owners to get their post count up on the forum.

More advanced users can use one of them to install an accessory socket in the boot - the wiring diagram for your car will have the wire colours and pin numbers for the connector.

So new members should just ignore these random connectors; kind of like my dad's favorite saying, "children should be seen and not heard" so as not to bother the "More advanced users". Very welcoming.

Grab the Electrical Guide - free download! - and see what those are if you really want to know. There are unused connectors elsewhere so you may need quite some time...

I think you have totally misunderstood the comments made, if you are offended. Every new owner asks this question, hence the joke about post count.

I'm 76 years old and tend to be cranky at times. I don't know anything about thread count; just trying to get some answers to the first foreign car I've ever bought. I forgot more about small block Chevys sleeping last night than most people know, but I know ZERO about Jaguars. Thought it would be a challenge. Busy keeps you alive.

Oh, they're a challenge. You don't know the half of it.

Apologies if you were offended by the joke. The thing is new members can't open files or send messages without reaching a certain post count, so posting the same question that has been asked 1000 times before helps get that post count up - and yes, you may as well ignore these random connectors because you will find lots of them.

However I would suggest that new members start by reading through the stickies section at the top of the forum, in particular this thread:-

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ts-data-29800/

The next thing to do is download the workshop and wiring diagram for the car.

Every single problem you will ever have on your car has already been asked, answered and solved on this forum. Taking the time to familiarise yourself with the resources on here will be the best investment you will ever make in your car all thanks to the "more advanced" users who have created this forum over the years.

I'll attest to that. I'm an old wood tick and pretty much mechanically retarded but with the help of the wonderful members of this forum I've managed to do quite a few repairs myself.
Kudos to those that take the time to help the rest of us. As I'll be taking the car out of winter storage in a couple weeks I'll be "talking" to you soon.

I have reached a stage in my life that I dont normally respond to criticism but as I initiated this post and it seems to be rumbling on a bit after thinking long and hard I thought I would.reply Firstly I had no idea about post count and as I have been a member for 3 years and have posted 3 questions, the suggestion I am trying to increase my count is nothing short of ridiculous. The other two queries met with very helpful replies. Now that I know all topics have been covered and answered a 1000 times before there seems to be little point in anyone asking anything or for that matter answering any queries a situation I am sure you will be relieved about as you will not have to respond to anyone else.

I think you are seeing criticism where there is none. The internet is not the best place for being-oversensitive (and that is, arguably, a criticism).

No searches before asking common questions is always a problem.
People want to be spoon fed and have the answers delivered to their door.
