PS. It just isn't needed to ID the car as a Jaguar. Friends of mine who don't know the first thing about cars can tell the XKR is a Jaguar without the need of ANY badging to guide them. That's called "heritage" or "DNA".

I love the color!
with regard to the kittycat on the hood:
I had a friend partially raise the car cover on my xk8 and declared....Mazda!

then at a recent car rally a gentleman walked over to me and admitted that from a distance he wasn't certain what the car was but thought it might be a jaguar (his jaguar had a kitty on the hood)

everyone has their own tastes

Lightbulb Frank, the light Bulb Guy!

Thanks Frank!

I was searching for something to say and you topped everything that I could ever dream up....If that is what the inside looks like, I wonder what the outside is all about.....Leapers on the Hood? Must be why he didn't show it...………...

I like the rear valence better than the one on my own car. It has a nice clean look.

Yes, props on the rear, but as you said, depends on taste. I personally think the front looks a bit too 2006-onward, not my thing, but all in all, a very smoothed out sleek mod.

Question Allan Ayling and the 2006 and a half!

I sort of like this Car! It has some things I like and then some that need some help....The Front just looks like any old 2007up, which I'm not a Fan....I like the Side Panels, "Rockers" but they need a little help! and I really like the Rear but I would make it look a little shorter as it Hangs down to far! If you would make he area between the Exhaust Tips look more like a real "Air Defuser" (Put some Chrome Vertical Ribs in there), then I would really like that!

By the way, Allan, you didn't mention what Year the Car is and if it is really an XKR or the Hood just makes it look like one. Tell us more!

Well, I pretty well did that one over! Allan, I like your Car! Looks pretty sharp! The problem with a Customized XK is that the XK doesn't need Customizing.....It's whole as it is!

i should've qualified that remark by saying , "...from the factory, no hood " leapers ".

I know fat bottomed girls make the rockin world go 'round, but that just too much flat expance on a car that's built around exotic curves! JMO, of course, but it's starting to look like a Corvette from the rear view..

I was cleaning out the garage and had cars out of the way, and decided to take a picture of the XKRs together. A lot of times when you see a newer version of a car next to the older, it shows the inadequacies of the older car. The x100 and x150 look related but I don't feel the newer car makes the old look worse; I think they're both beautiful in different ways.

I still think the front end on the X100 is better looking. It's certainly more E-Type like than the X150 although the X150 is still a beautiful car.

Agree with @DonLafferty on this one. Both great Jaguars, for sure, but the redesign has me holding onto my X100; maybe looking for a performance upgrade soon, and a respray, and maybe a back seat delete. Keep it fresh . . .

Rosettaquarrier,

As always, Black says it best! The Jaguar XK is a Classic Beauty in any color but Black is by far the most Beautiful!

I like both cars; and have no plans to get rid of either. The newer car is definitely faster, but it's not like the X100 is slow by any means. I think the best way to describe it is that they seem less related than the X100 is to the E Type; at least stylistically.

My X100 was fully resprayed 2 years ago, and all 4 wheels were redone then, and 4 years ago I replaced all of the wood panels with low mileage mint coupe ones (the car they came out of being a coupe; meaning less direct sun exposure). This fall it's getting new leather seat covers, which I bought and have in hand from TopsOnline. Really all that's left is a new top at one point, which is holding up well, but needs a new headliner at one point and a good cleaning. I've completely rebuilt the front suspension and steering, brake rotors and pads all around, replaced all coolant hoses (including valley), water pump, all idler and tensioner pulley bearings, alternator, power steering pump, 4 new tires, supercharger oil, transmission fluid, all coils, etc in the last 20k/3 years. I did the timing components right when I bought it so that's been good.

All simple maintenance and wear and tear items. Only breakdown the last 3 years was that hard coolant line going from the thermostat housing to the overflow tank; which prompted a later winter project of shotgunning all hoses and lines.

The car has 110k miles now, bought with 67k. I plan on being like Tberg on here. Just run the crap out of it, taking good care of it and giving it regular cosmetic upkeep and repair. It's not worth near as much resale wise as I'd like, so I'd rather just use and enjoy it! I think his 2002 has like 160k on it. Just run and enjoy it. It's worth like 8-10k now, 10 being generous. It's too much fun for that little money.

Two cats detailed out last weekend and in the garage. I ordered personalized plates for the F-PACE, "TMA-1" if you get the reference. I am beginning to think it would be better suited for my XKR
