If you take a flexible business card/credit card and fold it in a half circle, the whole start stop assy comes out.

very easy, use a plastic pry tool, insert it under the panel, best to start with the area between the piece and the cupholder, and just pry up.

the piece is very strong so don't worry about breaking it.

As suggested, lift up from the back with a plastic pry tool or similar and then pull back. An alternative option that I did before switching to the fixed-wing, is to put a toggle in the existing hole under the dash. Your call though.

If you choose to remove the panel to install...This video is a good overview:

Nope. It is pretty well recessed. I am sure there are larger drivers than me....But I am 6'4" and 225 LBS, and I do not bump it. (It is now used for my Methanol/Water Injection to totally disable the system when I do not want it running at all and I still never bump it...But you may??).

You could also use a smaller, or different style switch if you are concerned.
