All,
Recently purchased a 97/98 XK8 in what I think is excellent condition. Convertible in classic BRG. Was owned by someone who loved the car as exemplified by almost perfect interior and exterior condition. I've owned a sedan before and was searching for s BRG convertible ever since. Found and biught.
I plan in doing a lot of the maint. myself and am reasonably able having restored a 54 corvette (body off frame). Heavy lifting by others ie rebuild engine, trans., body paint by professionals, but rem. and rep. by me. Also reassembly. Also, owned two Range Rovers, so I am somewhat familiar with British vehicles..
It was several comments by members concerning timing chain/tensioners, water pumps, knock sensors that lead me to pass on two others before purchasing this one.
Therefore thank you for prior assistance.
I am returning now to chase down owners manuals and other books which will be helpful. Also, as an owner I will need advice concerning mechanics.
Thank you in advance all for the support I'm sure you can provide. And I hope I can be if some assistance to others as well.
Regards,
Dkbjagxk8 aka Doug
