Default Magnaflow exhaust setup

Hey all, just a quick question. Would anyone be interested in me posting video of my 2000 jag stype 4.0 with magnaflow resonators and magnaflow mufflers installed? There good and broke in now and I I know people like to hear before they buy so if you guys would like ill film her. Tell me what you want as well. Cold start small revs with cold and warm flyby? I'm open to options and would like to help others with the sounds. I'll included the part numbers as well.

Joe

Hey guys!!! I swear I have not forgotten about this sound clip. I have the videos on my phone and I am having my daughter make me a smaller YouTube video so I can get this out there for the ones that would like to hear. It sounds amazing to me still I love the low tones and the quiet highway driving. Even up to 120ish causing speeds its still low noise. I tried this for testing purposes. But I do have a question I have clips of cold start at rear of car and small revs then I have windows down driving with wot and windows up wot and normal driving. Is there any other position I should add that you guys would like to hear!??

Let me know I'll have it out in just a few for you. Hopefully by the end of the day

Joe

Default It's here

Hey guys I had to figure out the way to add my two clips together. My daughter usually does all this for me. But I just needed theses 2 videos added. Here's what the beast sounds like.

Magnaflow 4x9 rear mufflers and 2 center 5x22 resonators all 2.5 in and out

Sounds very nice.

Noticed,also.
The DSC is up, read codes to see what it is.
The Air bag light is up also.

The tinny noise, at the end of the Reving.

Could be the heat insulation plates on the body where you have replaced the exhaust, and it is not secured properly, or is bent out o shape and is rattling.

Your daughter is very talented.

The car sound very good from Inside.

How about an outside sound drive by at 30 and 60 MPH, anything faster no-one is going to see/hear or catchyou.

I am planning to build a 2.25" SS system for the STR.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks!
so the airbag light has been fixed it was the driver seat airbag connections both wires have come apart I took the connector apart and rejoined them so that's fixed

Now the dsc is always there. It's telling me that my brake booster has a mechanical fault. I have a thread in here about trying to figure it out but noone really had too much info on it. Some said it could be the abs computer being corrupt or desoldered I believe in parts. But it's telling me the brake booster.

I've tried to clear that code but a no go as well

As for that noise I didn't touch any of the heat shielding at all I even tried to move some around when the guy had it up on the lift but it was all tight. It's a very odd noise it kinda makes me think trans because the noise will let up during a shift so it'll make that noise idling and sitting in park drive ect but when I'm driving it will stop when the car is shifting. Trans seems ok other then a little sluggish unless I'm getting on it. If I'm driving it hard she ***** fast and nice but around town putting its sluggish. I do have a transgo shift improvement kit to install but haven't had time to do so. I have already did a service job with filter and fresh amsoil signature fluid change

She's a work in process but it's coming along nicely

Dear Readers,

For S*it read Shift.

My Mac Note Book does the same, since. spilling 100ml+ of Olive oil all over the key board.

I,ll have a look for that tread on the DSC.

I have been through the DCS codes issues, with mine.

I would Not try clearing the DSC Codes, read only.
The code readers have a habit of clearing the ABS calibration, and you end up with a flashing DSC on the dash. This requires a dealer visit, or access to the IDS V125 and a mongoose connection to re-do the ABS adaptation.

Once repaired the code should go away (clear) after a short run.

For 142K She is looking and sounding very good.

Diff oil Change? Has this been done or on the list to do. Mine was black after 55K.

I take it the chain tensioners have been done at sometime in the past as at 142K I would expect so.

Very nice Project Josef, Good work.

Default The C1286 Code threads

Some threads relating to C1286, from here Forums and the Forum(UK).

The fault, detailed by the threads below, some food for thought, and where other have gone.

https://www.jaguarforum.com/threads/...ailure.122087/

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...-codes-144906/

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ilable-219259/

Is the DSC light on,on the dash all the time or does it come and go?

Have you checked the wiring harness to the ABS module ,and the plug into this where it bends sharply and makes contact with the ABS support bracket where it is bolted to the chassis.

The thread 144906, Post No.4 by Norri states the JAGUAR code Meaning. The pin point test forC1286 as detailed by Mellow in the posts above using the JaguarRepair.com, data from Gus on here.

So yes could be the brake pedal switch, wiring fault,or ABS Unit, or a combine of all three. as SType Jag, state.

I am going to take my key board apart now, and clean it.

Yes the light is on always light with the tire doing s burn out is on and the warning light with message it never ever leaves me. If you see my new post about the fuse box and windsheild heater you'll see a pic of my fuse panel and i wonder if something there is wrong too.

Thanks for helping me

Default Magnaflow exhaust

I think I will try the magnaflow. I had a custom car that I sold to buy an STR. I kept the custom exhaust and just pulled off the Magnaflow. Makes the decision for what type of muffler set up easy. Sometimes I want an extreme - loud aggressive set up. But the stock - sleeper set up is also nice. Hope the Magnaflow splits the difference. Thanks for the post and the info on the resonators too.

You will be happy if you like that low not raspy sound. I am not the fan of Flowmaster raspy metal sounding exhaust. I like that low rumble melow sound. Magnaflow did it for me!

so today I'm doing the shift kit I've got her draning fluid now so imm pop the pan off and get the valve body off and start getting it fitted with the kit. Hopefully back together tomorrow so I can start the other little projects. Come next spring she will be a head turner for sure. I could talk about this thing all day lol
