Default 2015 XF AWD transfer case fluid replacement

has anyone done their transfer case fluid on AWD XF? i looked for instructions online but couldnt find any. when i went underneath i could only find a drain bolt.

I was confused as well. Shop told me it is lubricated with the same fluid as the trans?

I dont think its the same fluid as ZF transmission fluid. I contacted Royal purple and they recommended RP Synchromax. Ive had good luck with these fluids on my LR3. I just cant find a proper way to fill it up

TRANSFER CASE

TRANSFER CASE DRAINING AND FILLING (G1568856)


GENERAL PROCEDURES
  • 46.10.05
  • TRANSFER CASE DRAIN AND REFILL
  • 3000 CC, AJ V6 (AJ126), SUPERCHARGED, 4WD
  • 0.60
  • USED WITHINS

DRAINING
  1. WARNING:Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

    Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Refer to:Engine Undershield (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).


  3. Position a container to collect the fluid.
  4. CAUTION:Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.


  5. Allow the fluid to drain.

FILLING
  1. NOTE:Make sure that all the component mating faces are clean.



    Torque: 60Nm
  2. CAUTION:Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.


  3. Refill transfer case with the recommended fluid, until the fluid is level with bottom of filler/level plug hole.
  4. NOTE:Make sure that all the component mating faces are clean.



    Torque: 60Nm


  5. Torque: 43Nm


  6. Torque: 133Nm
  7. Refer to:Engine Undershield (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).
  8.  
    1. Connect an approved battery support unit / power supply to the vehicle.
    1. Connect the approved diagnostic equipment.
    1. Check for transfer case control module (TCCM) software updates.
    1. Update TCCM software if required.
    1. Carry out the diagnostic service function, Transfer case - Oil change reset procedure.
    1. Disconnect the approved diagnostic equipment.
    1. Disconnect the approved battery support unit / power supply from the vehicle.

This is exactly what i have been looking for thanks alot. looks like the fill plug is hidden inside the brace which i never took off. Really appreciate it.

Rummy, can you show me where the X351 transfer case module is located? (Love to see it like your pics here) I have an "intermittent" code failure so I am guessing that it is best to change it out. But I need to find it first and your threads here are very helpful.
