ABS engaging at slow speed with good traction
My 95 VDP X300 has started occasionally engaging the ABS as if it has a problem with braking traction.
Hard braking or braking at speed is normal.
Parking lot speed or slower and very light pedal application the ABS pump engages. The car still stops but obviously this behavior is not correct.
No ABS lights.
Anyone experienced this before?

Clean sensors as the lower the speed between a rotating and skidding tire gets smaller the " trip " gets smaller . With a clouded signal that trip may be seen and thought of as a normal functioning system .
I will clean and check connections soon.
This I would recommend remove and clean the face of the sensor as metallic particals stick to it and cloud over the signal . Don't try too hard as I broke one of mine and are expensive and are different part #'s through the X300 production , changeover at VIN # X . Job can be done without jacking the car . Spray penetrate beforehand overnight .

These sensors on an x300 are one time use only! If you need to remove it, ALWAYS have a replacement ready, I've only ever managed to remove a single one without destroying it(without the whole hub on the bench), in most cases they fuse completely with the hub and will snap easily.
Update. Noticed that speedo would sometimes not register at slower speeds. Pulled and cleaned left rear sensor and the wheel it senses since it drives speedo. Also fixed ground strap on left front.
So far no more abs lights!

To prevent them from seizing and making future removal easier, it helps to use a battery terminal wire brush to clean the bore where the sensor barrel fits, and apply anti-seize compound (copper- or nickel-based) to the outer barrel of the sensor (but not the tip) before you insert it into the bore.
