Front shock mounts, donuts, shock hats and bushings
2003 XJR-R1 with CATS. Front shock mounts dust. Rear donuts collapsed, Rear shock bushings trashed.
Price of the entire front shock mount assembly with CATS is expensive. I've seen the upgraded versions of the isolators at Moss. I think I've seen someone on the forum sells replacements but cannot find. Does he also sell a better donut? Since the donuts are bad I'm sure the isolators on top of the rear shocks (hats) are bad. Can those be bought with out getting new shocks because planning on keeping rear shocks and replacing bushings?

I’d 100% stick with oem Jag rear upper shock mounts. On eBay, you might want to check out desert European motor cars as they’re the most reasonably priced (I didn’t say cheap) oem parts. All of the aftermarket ones will collapse to a goo by the time august rolls around.

If you get these in oem, you can use them to press into the front upper shock plates. It’s the closest we’ll get to oem shock mounts without the interplanetary cost of buying them from the dealer.

Might be a dumb question, but you need two for each side?
Stock on the left. Very similar and work great but, you need to carefully press out the center pin and during reassembly. Yes, 2 needed on each side.

Found everything I needed at terrysjag.com. Few bucks cheaper than Desert European Motor Car (Rancho Mirage Jaguar) and they didn't have everything. All Jaguar original parts. Really torques my jib there is an aftermarket company named "Genuine" so their listings on eBay read "Genuine" Jaguar Part. Have to scroll down to see aftermarket.
Did bounce test and back passenger shock failed. Because of the deal I got on the car @Sean B said don't want to hear moans about recommissioning costs, but $400 for a CATS shock! Might end up buying a new one but have a message into NOMA parts to look for a used one. Can they be rebuilt? I found one place that rebuilds 2004+ Jag shocks but no lock on mine.

I have never had much respect for the CATS shock system. It always seemed to me
to be a very complicated and expensive system for very little difference in performance.
I am happy the Duchess does not have that.

Agree. I don’t like complicated features on a 22 year old car. I don’t have experience with CATS to judge performance but if all 4 bad would replace with Bilstein green sports. I wonder in Jaguar’s corporate mind how much of the decision was performance based and how much marketing. Kind of like the mom’s driving their “trail rated” SUVs to pick the kids up from school.
