Default Fuel pump confusion

So.... Lexie has been waiting for me to determine how to clear the "restricted performance" before I start driving it further than a mile away test drives, & although I've been starting it at least once a month & doing occasional test drives the fuel pump quit. It's out now (what a PITA) & I think it's a cheap aftermarket pump & the isolators where the pump fits into the bracket are like mush so I'm glad I'm replacing it...
I've searched this forum for recommendations & it seems Denso & Bosch are the ones to use, & I found the Denso 641-02714489 for $86 but it says "To Chassis VIN 031302". Mine is 040629 - will that pump not work? Do I need to search for pumps from year 2000 up for my 1999 XK8 or ???
TIA
Paul

All X100 and X308 pumps are the same. The supercharged cars just get TWO.

VIN 031302 was the last of the MY98 cars, which - for the XK8 - meant a change for MY99 from the AJ26 motor to AJ27. The EPC shows a change of pump (and also the fuel tank) part numbers at the same VIN break.

The # for the pump from VIN 031303 is JLM20756. Although that is showing as superseded it may help as a cross-reference. At least you have hands-on of the old pump for comparison.

It would be worth contacting Forum sponsor SNG Barratt as they're showing availability of that part #:

I see motorcarman has beaten me to it again...

Thanks guys. I searched a whole bunch of websites for a pump including SNG Barratt. michaelh I appreciate the link but that pump appears to be another (generic?) brand & I want OEM Denso or a Bosch. I did find a Denso on their site but is "special order" & no price listed... Since motorcarman says they are all the same, I'll go ahead & get the Denso at that rocky place for $86.
Thanks again you guys are the best. Maybe one day I'll get to actually drive Lexie more than just test drives. I'll go into more detail on what's been happening in my other thread once she's running again.

I should edit the comment that the X100 pumps are all the same EXCEPT that the 4.2 liter cars are VERY DIFFERENT.

OK so I got my Denso pump today. The listing said it came with "mounting hardware". Now, there are two things that mount the pump. 1) the metal bracket that bolts to the tank, & 2) the rubber isolators the that go between the bracket & the pump. I knew it wouldn't come with the bracket, so I expected it to come with the isolators. It didn't! The old pump had some goey shtuff holding it in, so I have no isolators. Anyone have a solution or source? Some they can send me?
Thanks!

This might be the part number you are
looking for: NND6025BA

it’s no longer available from Jaguar. But doing a Google search, is looks like you can find them new on eBay, etc.

That's the rubber gasket that goes at the top of the tank. But thanks for trying.

Doing a LOT of searching it looks like I'm going to have to buy another pump just to get the rubber mounts.

Can you source some rubber bumpers that are close in size and shape and do some creative carving on them to make them fit? How do they attach to the bracket?

Well-stocked hardware stores typically sell a variety of rubber bumpers....

Be careful what 'rubber' parts are immersed in fuel.
Some deteriorate rapidly.
Get parts designed for fuel.

I used Delphi. See this thread on how the rubber pads on the bottom that came with the Delphi were too thick to fit in stock metal holder. Bottom of pump different so trimmed pad from prior URO pump.

Exactly. I have all kinds of rubber gromets & stock but I doubt any of it is compatible with fuel. I just used my last $$$ & ordered a $10 pump & a $6 strainer & paid $15 shipping - we'll see if the pump actually comes with things in the photo...

Good news is the cheap pump came with the rubber mounting isolator bits. But the denso pump wouldn't even fit through the ring on the bracket so I cut it off & made one out of a piece of exhaust pipe. I made it a little too small, though, so I split it & used a hose clamp to hold the pump in place (I like that better anyway).

The inlet filter was mush & tiny bits so it's a good thing I had to do this. Now have a Denso pump, a good filter, & I also replaced the output hose with a Gates submersible hose (cost $38 for one foot - which was just enough). I'm adding a new fuel (inline) filter to the top of the list to replace next... Oh & I used fuel injection clamps on the hoses instead of the regular (spiral?) clamps that the previous *mechanic* had on them.
Forgot to mention that Lexie is running again - now on to the "restricted performance" & a miss to diagnose. Will clear codes, test drive, & read codes & post in my original thread for any help I need in those matters.
Thanks guys & gals!
